Is Electromagnetic Field a Renewable Energy - Hiding In Plain Sight?



 Interestingly, 99% of all electrical energy harnessed today is electromagnetic in nature; and the two primary producers are electrical generators and photovoltaic cells (solar panels) – these systems harnesses magnetic field and electromagnetic radiation respectively.

From low-tech hydroelectric to high-tech nuclear reactors, employ an electrical generator as the means for "converting mechanical energy into electrical energy".
Exceptions to electrical energy producers that do not harness electromagnetic energy are; primary cells (disposable batteries) and fuel cells. It is important to note that most batteries in use today (rechargeable types), are only storage devices, and do not produce electrical energy. And yes, there are few other less-practical and less-adopted energy sources.

It is also important to note that there are distinctive differences in the article's definition of magnetic field, electromagnetic field, and electromagnetic radiation; and their relationship to the harnessing of electricity. These are; (1) magnetic field energy (harnessed by electrical generators), (2) electromagnetic radiation energy (harnessed by solar cells), and (3) electromagnetic field energy (harnessed by transformers and now Energy Recapture Technology). Yes, electrical transformers are generators that generate electricity from electricity. 

Magnetic field (magnet) is stationary. Electrical induction requires field animation; this can be either an animated field interacting with a stationary collector or an animated collector interacting with a stationary field. Whichever configuration adopted, some type of mechanical motion is required to animate magnet producing fields before such energy can be harnessed via electromagnetic induction.

Electromagnetic radiation (light) is highly animated, this allows for stationary placed solar cells to harness this energy via an electromagnetic induction process commonly refers to as photo emission.

Electromagnetic field (electricity) is normally harnessed by electrical transformers. In transformers, the input energy is consumed within the primary circuit which energized the transformer's ferromagnetic core to generate higher - than normal - electromagnetic field animation. This highly animated field is then harnessed within the secondary circuit, also via electromagnetic induction commonly refers to as mutual induction.

In my effort to keep this article simple and fun, I will not go much deeper. However, liberating and harnessing the energies of electromagnetic energies remain a hot topic.

It is popular believe that 100% efficiency is ideal and therefore unattainable. This type of reasoning is logical only when the older (and more popular) view that electricity is being generated (to be created/converted from one form of energy into electrical energy). However, the new reasoning is that electricity is harnessed and not generated. In the case of harnessing, efficiency limitations lie only within the apparatus design.

Nevertheless, most scholars believe that to unleash such energy would spring self sustaining systems, and therefore defy the laws of thermodynamics; although electromagnetic energy is a non-conservative force and therefore the laws of conservation do not apply. The idea of obtaining electrical efficiency in excess of 100% violates fundamental laws and is therefore impossible. To mention otherwise, is frown upon. Unfortunately, this notion has being perpetuated throughout the scientific and non scientific communities, as plain "impossible". The same was said about the development of the AC motor, and we all know that story. Still, the possibility of harnessing electromagnetic field energy remains an open topic and a pursuant of a few radical thinkers - and by radical I mean logical.

Nicola Tesla, famous for his unorthodox ideas and the introduction of high frequency alternating current, reported unexpected test results while experimenting with his equally famous apparatus – the Tesla Coil. Tesla’s accredited finding (converted potential exceeds expectation) was believed to be directly correlated with unusual electromagnetic field displacement; a product of his high frequency apparatus.
Tesla-Coil, along with most modern-day spin off versions, accidentally taps electromagnetic field power in law-defying ways, such to elude experts.
Apparently, energy stored within electromagnetic field proves to be elusive, and provide some level of difficulties, for those willing to attempt “awakening” electromagnetic field’s true potential.

Nevertheless, electricity is a compound energy source consisting of electromagnetic field energy and electron flow energy. Examples of devices that employ electromagnetic field energy are; electric motors and electromagnets. Examples of devices that employs electron flow power are; electrical heating and electric lighting.

Electromagnetic field power was never recognized as an independent energy of electricity; for this reason, devices powered by electromagnetic field power adopted the same metering and measuring methodology as electron flow power.

To date, electron flow power represents the standard by which we metered electrical energy and is commonly referred to the wattage an analogy is the depiction of two-dimensional system. (That is, electron-flow-power equals to the quantity of electron flowing through a cross sectional area of a conductor multiplied by the force exerted by the flow).


The above is common knowledge; there is no denying that flux density is directly proportional to the quantity of electron flow; and there is no denying that conductor length is an accumulative factor in total electromagnetic field energy. It is also true, however, that animating electromagnetic field, one of many key factors in unleashing electromagnetic-field-power, prove far too elusive from effective harnessing - well - until now.
